Oscar-winning director Andrew Stanton (WALL-E Finding Nemo) brings to the wide screen the gripping epic story of the adventures of courageous John Carter 3D on the planet Mars, inhabited by warring tribes and exotic monsters. The film is the adaptation of the first book in a series of novels by science fiction writer Edgar Rice Burroughs The Martians (The Barsum Cycle), whose works have repeatedly inspired filmmakers of different generations. The new film tells about the adventures of the veteran of the American Civil War John Carter 3D (Taylor Kitsch), who is transported by a mysterious artifact to Mars, where he is involved in a confrontation between the tribes of the mysterious inhabitants of the red planet. Finding himself in a world doomed to slow dying, John Carter realizes that the fate of the planet and its inhabitants depends only on him.
