The plot of the movie Salyut 7 3D 2017
1985 The Soviet space station “Salyut-7” suddenly stops responding to signals from Earth. The station is drifting in orbit, and if it cannot be brought back under control, the USSR risks losing the multi-metric-ton structure along with its expensive equipment.
The film is based on a real space mission from 1985. Cosmonauts Vladimir Dzhanibekov and Viktor Savinykh did indeed manage, for the first time in history, to dock with an uncontrolled space object and restore its functionality.
