Begegnung Im All Mission ISS 3D 2014. The documentary follows German astronaut Alexander Gerst’s training for his 2014 mission to the International Space Station. Cameras capture his preparations at facilities in Houston, Moscow, and Cologne. For the first time, a documentary film was shot in 3D aboard the ISS. Dutch astronaut Andre Kuipers provides footage from inside the station. The film offers views of Earth and life in microgravity. It traces Gerst’s journey from candidate selection through launch. The documentary honors generations of space explorers.
