The First Omen 3D Blu Ray 2024

“The Omen” was made almost 50 years ago. A milestone in the history of occult films, which brought two further parts and has thrilled genre fans for decades. After a few botched pseudo-sequels and a more or less unsuccessful remake, “The First Omen” now takes the path into the past, closes the gap of ignorance and presents itself as a real prequel. It was probably a big challenge to match the original and there were definitely some design problems, because the original is almost half a century old and old props and familiar faces no longer exist. But despite all the adversities, everything was mastered brilliantly. The film is a pleasure to watch, although it is not necessary to know the original. But anyone who knows the original perceives this part even more intensely. It is interesting that this film works so unusually well in 3D, as it is hard to escape the flair of the classics. But some scenes actually seem to have been shot for this purpose and there is even a touch of nostalgia wafting through the film. The 3D is simple but impressive. In some very important scenes, it literally turns the viewer into a supporting actor with tangible proximity to the action. Nevertheless, in large parts of the film you are only looking at beautiful depth and great breadth. A great game with different perspectives. A really nice implementation of an unexpectedly good prequel. Whether it is possible to implement the classic trilogy remains to be seen, because despite being very close to the original, everything in this film seems much fresher and not as old and dusty as the original.
