Gamera: The Giant Monster 3D Blu Ray 1965

Gamera the Giant Monster 3D 1965 is a Japanese kaiju film released by Daiei. A nuclear explosion in the Arctic awakens a giant prehistoric turtle with tusks named Gamera. The creature destroys a research ship and travels to Japan where it attacks cities including Tokyo. Dr. Hidaka studies Gamera and discovers it feeds on fire and fossil fuels for energy. A young boy named Toshio develops a bond with the monster after Gamera saves him from falling from a lighthouse. The military attempts freezing bombs and conventional weapons but Gamera retracts into its shell and flies away spinning like a flying saucer. Scientists devise the Z Plan to lure Gamera to Oshima Island using fire and launch it into space inside a rocket bound for Mars. Toshio waves goodbye believing he will visit Gamera someday. This black-and-white film launched the long-running Gamera franchise.
