Daniel LaRusso moves with his mother to Reseda, a suburb of California. New school, no friends but a ray of sunshine on the horizon. Daniel falls in love with the pretty Ali. But where sunshine is, there is shadow not far away. Ali is the girlfriend of Johnny, the king of the school and lord of good and evil. And because Johnny is Johnny, Daniel becomes the new victim of him and his clique. So he decides to learn self defense at the local "Cobra Kai" dojo. Unfortunately, Johnny is the best fighter there, Sensais favorite student and Sensai Krees runs the dojo with a heavy hand. Weakness is not accepted. Daniel is gets to feel this every day. But fate is on his side. In Mr. Miyagi, he finds a friend and trainer, old school style. He teaches him the right path in an unconventional way, and a Karate Tournament gives him the chance to face Johnny as equal, for the first time... John G. Avildsen, who has already successfully directed ROCKY, also sets a milestone in film history here. Hardly any film from the 80s has ever built such a broad franchise over decades as "The Karate Kid." The third dimension was carried out very carefully and almost reverently. The films beautiful setting opens up a great breadth and pleasant depth. The 3D flatters the film overall and the action scenes in particular are superbly supported. Many scenes with wonderful depth of detail and beautiful depth gradation round out the overall picture. The brilliant idea of adapting this great cult classic is not disappointed. You feel like you have been transported back to the 80s and almost become a part of the film. Come with us on a journey back to one of the most fascinating decades, into a spectacular third dimension, and experience "The Karate Kid" like never before.
