I think the film is unfairly poorly rated. If you like tournament fighting films that are structured similarly to Mortal Kombat oder Street Fighter, you will be well served here. It's a good game adaptation with expected weaknesses in the story, deliberately exaggerated fight scenes and lots of sex appeal to distract from said weaknesses. Anyone who gets involved knows what to expect. There are no shortage of impressive but sometimes totally exaggerated fight scenes and the main actresses are all a feast for the eyes. The entire film is also set in picturesque locations and scores with great shots of a wonderful backdrop throughout. Anyone expecting an Academy Award film will probably have no fun, but who expects something like that from a game adaptation. The 3D is integrated very harmoniously and the many distance scenes from different camera perspectives are excellently implemented. Great depth, some nice decent pop-outs and a supportive interpretation of the material at hand make DOA a pleasure in 3D. Anyone who didn't particularly like the film, but generally didn't completely reject it, will recognize a significantly improved version. Anyone who already liked the film in 2D will be impressed again not only by the fight scenes because of their good depth. In particular, the 3D implementation of the filming locations and the action scenes have been massively upgraded. The overall impression of this unassuming film is impressive in 3D. If you can't do anything with films like this, please don't be disappointed, the good 3D doesn't make the fight scenes any less exaggerated and the plot does not make any better sense. But it's definitely an eye-catcher, and I don't just mean the pretty actresses.
