Hellboy: The Crooked Man 3D Blu Ray 2024

First of all, this is just my personal opinion. Everyone is called upon to form their own opinion. Admittedly, the film is close to the comics, even directly based on the comics. And yes, the comics are dark and not as funny as the first two Hellboy films. But therein lies the problem. For one thing, the actual comic series has a relatively small but loyal fanbase for hero comics, and for another, the charming adaptation of the first two Hellboy films successfully opened itself up to a broad new fanbase. In part 3, they tried to combine the two a little, and it probably would have worked with Ron Perlman, but they decided otherwise, and David Harbor was simply not optimally cast, and the film itself did not even come close to the first two Hellboy films. This one, however, should be buried deep, deep down. A budget of $20 million is almost a bargain for a movie, but where others produce a true gem with that small money... this here just feels cheap for the most part, many important character details were forgotten, and instead of capitalizing on the dark side of the comics and creating a solid sense of tension, the film feels like it was rushed out in the haze of dawn. I almost felt like I was watching one of those terrible movies that were made cheaply in the former Soviet Union for budget reasons. The idea of ​​going back to the roots of comics may be well-intentioned in principle, but not all film fans like experiments. And a total departure from successful predecessors always carries a certain risk. After the moderate success of the third film, David Harbor had to be gone and they tried Jack Kesey. But his performance is so uninspired and bad that you wonder if it is due to the incredibly bad script or if he is simply no good as an actor. Sorry, after Call of Darkness, I would not have thought this brilliant character could evoke more feelings of embarrassment. The only person who tried to do everything right in this piece of work is our master of the third dimension. He probably gave all to salvage something. But unfortunately, even the amazing 3D can not compensate for the wasted time watching it. Why so many people wanted this title is a mystery to me. Maybe they wanted to save buying the cinema ticket. Well, I could at least relate to that. 3D 7 of 10, film 3 of 10. And 3 is a junkyard for me... If you like to, enjoy the 3D. For me, unfortunately, it is a really bad movie.
