To Live and Die in L.A. 3D Blu Ray 1985

William Friedkin's To Live & Die In L.A. is one of my favorite films of the 80s films and is one of the most 80's films you will ever see. It's visuals, it's fashion, its soundtrack and even its title font. It bounces along with restless energy, helped greatly by the music by Wang Chung, which is a constant reminder that, yes indeed, it's an 80s film. A gripping story and great characterizations by William Petersen and Willem DeFoe. Friedkin creates a jittery atmosphere of adrenaline and corruption and danger that's highlighted by a stunning car chase, in which the agents drive against the flow of traffic on a busy six-lane freeway that is only surpassed by the one in Friedkin’s earlier masterpiece, The French Connection. JFC's excellent conversion of this colorful film adds to the excitement and drama that takes the drama into the third dimension.
