Pathaan 3D Blu Ray 2023

I actually did not planed, watching this film. I do not like to remember the never ending Bollywood Movie nights I had to endure with my wife. Endless sentimental lalala and almost endless, sometimes completely inappropriate and constantly, happy dance scenes, even at the sad scenes. Shah Rukh Khan has always embodied this for me. Granted, he is a good actor, but that were never my kind of movies he made. I was even less happy because he was in the cast. But I also give Mandarin films a chance and Pathaan was announced as an action film and had a reasonable trailer. So it was only fair to give this film a chance. I confess that I am genuinely surprised, even thrilled. The film is good, it is very good, great locations, wonderful shots, pretty women, cool cars and weapons and incredibly good hard action with wonderfully over-the-top scenes. And what is more, it is completely shot in an impressive perfection. Super choreographed tracking shots, good quick cuts, clean close-ups and impressive panoramic shots. A real joy for every viewer. Ultimately, I can only apologize for my prejudices. India is no longer only singing and dancing around. India can also do great action cinema. What I was offered here was a good, simple story, packaged in an action film that was impressively staged with fantastic images and was extremely entertaining. The score is not annoying, the total length of just under 150 minutes is quite reasonable and it's also packed with everything you know and love in action blockbusters from the west. You have to know that both, singing and dancing, are ultimately not completely missing here either. But the director made a good compromise. There are two of these scenes. One quite early in the film and the other in the credits. But these are made more like good music videos and not like I remember from previous films. The 3D complements the picturesque backdrops and the very well choreographed film. Some action scenes seem like they were made for 3D, the use of it makes some big scenes even more impressive. In my country, films are dubbed. It is a shame that the top voices was not chosen here, Pathaan deserved it. I think I will give it another watch and come back in the future to see if there is any more such good material to watch. My clear recommendation.
