The Resident Evil media franchise has long since turned into a pop culture monster: a series of computer games (a remake of Resident Evil 3 came out last year), six full-length feature films with Milla Jovovich and three animated ones. Netflix is working on a series based on the universe (which is also due to launch in 2021),at the same time, a movie reboot is also being prepared: the director's chair was taken by the master of horror of the middle hand, Johanness Roberts, and the plot is based on the first two games of the series - the duration of the action is one night in 1998. The main roles will be played by Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner), Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Robbie Amell and others in the movie Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City 3d blu ray.

In the early 2000s, the first version of "Resident Evil" not only became a super hit and a landmark role for Milla Jovovich, but also launched the most profitable franchise based on a video game. By the end of the 2010s, when the last, sixth part was released, the cumulative fees of all films exceeded $1 billion. Director and screenwriter Paul W.S. Anderson, who has been at the helm of the franchise all these years, cemented his reputation as Hollywood's premier video game adaptation, but the new adaptation only lists him as one of the executive producers. This time, Johannes Roberts is responsible for directing and scripting - a person not particularly known to the general public, but familiar to horror fans: he directed the sequel Strangers and the shark horror duology The Blue Abyss (as well as the stylish thriller The Cursed School). The change of the author is a move designed to emphasize a new emphasis: the reboot of "Resident Evil" should be closer to the original game, where the action complements, but does not supplant the horror.
