Up 3D 2009. Carl Fredricksen, a 78-year-old retired balloon salesman, finally fulfills a lifelong dream he shared with his late wife Ellie. He ties thousands of helium balloons to his house and flies it to Paradise Falls in South America . He accidentally brings along Russell, an 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer attempting to earn his "Assisting the Elderly" merit badge . They encounter a giant colorful bird named Kevin and a talking Golden Retriever named Dug, whose pack is controlled by the villainous explorer Charles Muntz, Carl's childhood idol . The adventure becomes a journey of self-discovery, with Carl learning to let go of his past and embrace a new friendship with Russell . The house finally comes to rest at Paradise Falls, and Russell receives "The Ellie Badge" from Carl .
