Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear searches for a favorable planet to establish a human colony there. The colonists' ship gets stuck in the middle of a hostile world of predator plants due to the hero's mistake. People try to settle down in a temporary dwelling while Buzz tests the hypervelocity crystal over and over again - only with its help can the spaceship continue its journey. Not only does nothing work, but each flight sends the ranger several years into the future. Lighter's colleagues manage to build families, have grandchildren, and die, while he tries in vain to correct the blunder

When the flight finally succeeds and Buzz reaches hyperspeed, 22 years have passed on the planet. During this time, the colonists surround the settlement with a protective dome - the fact that the planet declared hostile robots led by a certain Zorg. Buzz must defeat the villain, infiltrate the colony and finally send people home.
