By day, she is an exemplary nurse whom people trust with their lives. And at night, she uses her own sexuality, seducing people in order to then kill them with particular cruelty ... It lacks the faux-grunge aesthetic that has been so trendy over the past few years, but Nurse 3-D is still exploitation, pure and simple: not a minute goes by without either some gratuitous nudity courtesy of star Paz de la Huerta (or from her ass-tabulous co-star Katrina Bowden), a spot of outrageously bloody violence, or blatant use of its 3D gimmick, which proves to be the icing on the whole gloriously OTT cake. For anyone who likes their movies excessively trashy, this slick and frequently sick offering will more than likely fit the bill.

De La Huerta plays sexy, psychotic, bisexual nurse Abby Russell, who helps save lives during the day, but takes them in her spare time, using her sex appeal to lure adulterous men to their deaths. Abby also becomes fixated on fellow rookie nurse Danni (Bowden), doing her utmost to ruin her co-worker's relationship with boyfriend Steve (Corbin Bleu). When Danni spurns Abby's sexual advances (after having already been tricked into bed by the manipulative bitch), and begins to suspect the nutty nurse of murdering her stepfather, things go from bad to worse, Abby going on a frenzied killing spree in the hospital

Directed by Douglas Aarniokoski, frequent assistant director to Robert Rodriguez, Nurse 3-D is unpretentious, gory, and very sexy silliness with a deliciously dark streak of humour running throughout. With frequent full frontal nudity from De La Huerta, who hams it up at every opportunity, and lots of graphic splatter (starting with a juicy impalement on a spiked railing), the film might prove a little excessive for some, but red-blooded, card-carrying gore-hounds will most definitely be in their element.
