The Curse of Frankenstein 3D Blu Ray 1957

Baron Victor Frankenstein, awaiting execution for murder, tells a priest the story of his experiments. He attempts to conquer death itself and create new life, but the result turns out to be nothing like he had anticipated. This is Hammer’s first color horror film and the movie that established the studio’s signature style: rich colors, gloomy castles, Gothic sets, and visuals that were far more gruesome for their time.

The Curse of Frankenstein is a classic Gothic horror film featuring a laboratory, corpses, and a mad scientist, and it fits perfectly into our Halloween collection. It was here that Cushing and Lee first appeared together they would later become one of Hammer’s most recognizable duos. Just one year later, Lee would play Dracula, and Cushing would play Van Helsing in Dracula 3D 1958.
