The Shining 3D Blu Ray 1980

Jack Torrance takes a job as the winter caretaker of the massive Overlook Hotel, which is completely cut off from the outside world for several months. He arrives there with his wife and young son, Danny, hoping to work on his book in peace. But the hotel has a past of its own, and Danny begins to notice things that others cannot see. Gradually, the isolation begins to change Jack. What at first appears to be an ordinary family story set in a snow-covered hotel turns into a deeply unsettling struggle a man’s battle with himself and with something that seems to dwell within the place itself.

The film’s greatest strength is its atmosphere. Kubrick practically turns the Overlook into a character of its own: endless corridors, empty rooms, the strange geometry of the spaces, and the constant feeling that someone is watching the characters. The music and sound here are just as effective as the visual effects.
