Canaima Lagoon, Venezuela. Part II. Hacha Waterfall VR 360
This was AirPano's second trip to Venezuela, and yet it was not an easy one. We chose a bad time to travel: the country was going through an economic and social crisis. When our friends heard about our plans, they tried to talk us out of it, some of them even thought we were crazy. Nevertheless, we made the long transatlantic flight, and the old Douglas was on its way to Kanaima. There weren't many passengers - mostly us and our luggage that didn't fit in the baggage compartment. Canaima is a national park in southeastern Venezuela, almost completely cut off from civilization. No roads lead here; it can only be reached by air or water. In the distance we could see the Canaima Lagoon and the table mountains known as tepuis. We had arrived! After getting off the plane, we unloaded our luggage and loaded it into the truck, which bounced merrily over the bumps, taking us to our lagoon-side lodge. We were greeted at the entrance by exotic parrots and a “friendly” pet toucan who tried to bite off a couple of my toes as a sign of friendship. The next day we planned to fly by helicopter to Angel Falls, but in the meantime we wanted to rest a bit after a long journey.
