The first JOKER was already a controversial film, but was nevertheless very highly praised due to its bizarre nature and sometimes grotesque harshness. Those who loved JOKER obviously felt very entertained for various reasons. However, the sequel essentially takes a different path, It deals more with the psyche of the main protagonist, his fears, his desperate search for love and his severely disturbed personality. However, It would be wrong to describe the film as a stupid legal drama with a musical character that lacks the violence to be taken seriously. It is much more than that. The musical-style are important for the plot and in a certain way represent part of the sick psyche that a brilliant Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga present to us. The few peaks of violence are chosen very appropriately and the entire scenery is very oppressive and dark. Anyone expecting a sequel in the same vein as part one will look for it in vain. Personally, I found this character study to be much more intense than the one in part one. The 3D had to make compromises for many reasons, but it is very suitable for the material. It tries to help the viewer look at the scenes with different eyes, for example giving the courtroom a clearly visible enlargement that directs the focus to the people who show severe deficits in their interaction with other people. It is difficult to escape the interaction of well-chosen 3D and the special representation of the characters. You are closer to what is happening and are toying with the idea of ​​getting involved. The scenes that are actually unimportant to the story and offer strong visual contrasts to the rest of the events have a great depth and allow a little break from the actually very intense content. Anyone who is bothered by the musical-like presentation should look within himself. You will find moments in your own live where you cannot get a melody out of your head and the rest of your daily routine is directly influenced by it. It is precisely this aspect that happens to the mentally not entirely compatible JOKER in his madness and in the course of that this is represented in music scenes. A brilliant film, with great 3D. I admit I did not really want to see the film, But I have not regretted it for a second and am grateful that I was able to celebrate an unforgettable three-dimensional event. Great work. Thank you.
