Kick-Ass 3D Blu Ray 2010

Bullied at school and something of a victim himself, a teenager gathers all his courage and embarks on an arduous journey to ensure justice. With a costume and no prior knowledge, the brutal reality of the street quickly catches up with him. But his courage makes him a hero. Celebrated on the internet, ripped apart in the press and hunted by police and gangsters alike, our hero receives unexpected support. Matthew Vaughn has another hit with “Kick-Ass”. Socially critical content mixed with the most brutal action and a good pinch of the darkest humor results in a wonderfully refreshing anti-hero cocktail that fits perfectly with the current superhero hype. Although Vaughns particular filmmaking style and use of special widescreen lenses made the conversion to 3D difficult, the best work was done here. The beautiful, harmonious 3D captures the atmosphere perfectly. A beautiful depth and the skillfully placed focus enormously enhance the spatial perception of the effect intended by the lenses. A fresh kick in the dusty cinematic ass. An impressive implementation in the third dimension.
