Avatar 2: The Way Of Water 2022 the new era of 3D

On December 15, 2022, a sequel to the cult film "Avatar" will be released worldwide. Many people have been waiting for this event for several years, because the new part should show viewers the continuation of the story of the confrontation between the inhabitants of Pandora, a planet with its amazing culture and inhabitants who are desperate to protect their world.

Where it all began

The first
Avatar was released in 2009 and was the event that divided the movie world into a before and after. First of all, it was the first 3D film so successful that it spawned a slew of imitators and attempts to surpass it. Secondly, the sci-fi story told in the film was suddenly in tune with what was going on in the world, and it took on a lot of extra meaning. And thus the movie became not just entertainment, but a technical and narrative breakthrough.
Interestingly, James Cameron announced the beginning of work on the second part of "
Avatar" back in 2011, and at the same time said that it would necessarily be followed by a third film. But the picture, which was to be released back in 2014, did not appear there until the end of 2022, the director explained that only the creation of the script he and his team took four years, and shooting on the California coast could only start in 2017.
Subsequently, the release date of the film was affected by the pandemic - the work had to stop. But the fact that at the same time with the second part was filmed and the third, indicates that to wait for its release so long will not have to anyone - neither the creators of the film, nor the audience. Although, in the process, Cameron decided that this story needs to be continued, and the world will see three more parts of Avatar: The Seed Bearer, Avatar: The Tulkun Rider, Avatar: The Quest for Eywa. Thus, this series will include five full-length films.

The plot of the new part

The story of "
Avatar" begins with a soldier, Jack, who has lost the ability to walk and continue serving in the army, being transported to another planet by a capsule that turns him into a hybrid of a human and the local Na'vi race. His goal is to learn more about the secrets this race holds and help capture it for the sake of obtaining a valuable fossil. But Jack meets Neytiri, undergoes many trials, and decides to protect this world.
It is known that in the second part they have already become parents, and peace prevailed on Pandora, but the corporation, which organized the first operation "Avatar", decides to repeat it. And then the family has to move to a safer, though completely unfamiliar to them place. They have to understand the new world and continue to try to protect the planet.

Interesting Facts

There are a lot of underwater scenes in the new movie, so the actors had to take real scuba diving lessons. Kate Winslet, who played one of the main roles in "
Avatar 2: The Way of Water" said that her longest breath hold was 7 minutes and 14 seconds.
It's also worth noting that Edward Norton, declined to star in the film. He was supposed to be invited to the role of one of the Na'vi, but in the end, it turned out that he was offered the role of a man, and this arrangement did not interest him.
Plus, many fans will probably be pleased that some of the scenes were filmed in New Zealand - in the same pavilions of Wellington, where the shooting of the first "Avatar" and a number of projects directed by Peter Jackson, as well as many blockbusters in recent years.
Naturally, the lead actors in the film have not changed - Sam Warrington and Zoe Saldana are happy to return to their characters. Despite advances in computer graphics, the shooting also went with motion-capture technology to make the characters as individual as possible. Replacing actors with extras was out of the question.
In addition to Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement and Edie Falco joined the cast.

Avatar 2: The Way of Water also comes out in 3D, because the very idea of interaction with the other world and its full acceptance implies only such immersion in the plot.
