Matterhorn Mountain, Switzerland VR 360
Located on the border between Switzerland and Italy, the Matterhorn looks like a pyramid in the heart of Europe, with four triangular faces converging at the top. Like other pyramids, whether the famous Egyptian ones or the lesser known Mexican ones, the Matterhorn is full of mystery and tragic events. With an elevation of 4,478 meters, it ranks only fifth among the Alps, but is considered one of the most difficult and hard-to-reach peaks in the world. Its faces are deceptive and even experienced climbers could not conquer them until 1865, with the southern slope remaining unconquered for another 66 years. The results of the climbs were often tragic. For example, Edward Wimper and his team were the first to successfully climb the mountain, but the rope broke during the descent, claiming the lives of four participants. In 1933, three French climbers became the first to complete one of the routes up the Matterhorn, but they all died on the way back down.
