Rio de Janeiro. City Landscapes VR 360
In the early 16th century, Portuguese sailors reached Guanabara Bay and landed on its shores. In 1565, they founded a port in this picturesque place, which they named São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro. Over time, the name was shortened and the city became one of the most famous in the world. Until 1960, Rio de Janeiro served as the capital of Brazil, after which this authority was transferred to Brasilia, and Rio became the country's main tourist attraction. The city covers an area of 1,260 square kilometers, including plains, hills, rocky mountains and beaches. The historical center with buildings of XVI-XIX centuries, the coast and the famous Copacabana beach, Sugarloaf Mountain and the statue of Christ the Redeemer are included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The magnitude of these natural and cultural attractions can be easily appreciated with a bird's eye view of the panoramas.
