Every day, from 330 to 460 thousand people pass through Times Square. Every year, this place is visited by about fifty million people. This is the most lively and colorful place in the city: parades, festivals and concerts are held here. Huge screens are installed on the buildings, broadcasting various TV shows. Every New Year's Eve, a huge crystal ball located on a pole at the top of a special building is lowered from a height of 23 meters. This is how the new year begins, and this incredible celebration attracts a million people. The record was set at the celebration of the millennium on January 1, 2000 - then two million people gathered in Times Square.
