Egyptian pyramids. Part II VR 360

The AirPano team had already photographed the Egyptian pyramids in 2011, but since then technology has changed significantly and we started to create 360° videos. This inspired us to capture the great pyramids of Giza again. We applied to the various Egyptian authorities for permission to take aerial photos many times, but were denied each time: we were not allowed to bring aerial photography equipment with us. If aerial photography is unavailable, we decided to capture the pyramids the traditional way - from the ground. Finding myself in an unusual situation without the drone operator Stas, I set off for Cairo. I arrived late in the evening and my driver Gabriel met me at the airport to take me to Giza. The journey was long and we quickly struck up a conversation. Gabriel is 45 years old, has been in the police force for 45 years, and now works as a driver for a hotel. We stopped on a bridge to admire the Nile. As Gabriel smoked, the hot wind carried the sparks from his cigarette. I enjoyed the atmosphere of Cairo, this vast and mysterious city.
