Egyptian pyramids. Part I VR 360

The AirPano team already filmed the Egyptian pyramids in 2011. Since then, technology has improved a lot and we have started to create 360° videos. Therefore, we wanted to capture the famous pyramids of Giza again. We applied several times to the various Egyptian authorities for permission to take aerial photos, but were denied each time: we were not allowed to bring our aerial photo equipment with us. If we can't shoot the pyramids from the air, we'll try to do it in a more traditional way - from the ground. So, being in an unusual situation for us - without the drone operator Stas - I went to Cairo. I flew in late afternoon, where my driver Gabriel met me to take me to Giza. It was a long drive and we quickly struck up a conversation. Gabriel is 45 years old, worked his way up through the police force and now works as a driver at a hotel. We stopped on a bridge to admire the Nile. As Gabriel smoked, the hot wind carried sparks away from his cigarette. I was in Cairo, such a huge and mysterious city.
