Binggou Danxia Geopark, China VR 360

Every corner of our planet is unique, but China stands out among the beautiful places. Its relief is so impressive that a special name has been introduced for it - Danxia. This word describes a variety of landscapes consisting of layers of red sandstone and characterized by cliffs. This unique landform is found only in a few regions of China and nowhere else in the world. There is a National Geopark with the same name near the city of Zhangye. The amazing rock formations were formed as a result of special geological processes and the influence of the local climate. About eighty million years ago, there were lakes and rivers here, but over time they dried up, leaving behind sandstone and other mineral deposits. Then tectonic plates collided, resulting in the formation of highlands. These landforms were subjected to erosion and the effects of winds and precipitation, resulting in a multitude of caves, grottos, ravines, valleys, columns and towers reflecting various shades of red. Each formation is unique in both color and shape. Even during the day, the pattern can change depending on how light and shadow fall.
