Ancient city Petra, Jordan VR 360
The moon lit my path brightly, obscuring the streetlights that lined the sidewalk. I moved in complete silence, unable to imagine what awaited me around the next corner. Strange dome-shaped rocks watched me as I passed candlelit caves, heading toward the City of the Dead. The path gradually narrowed to a narrow path between high red walls where the light of the moon did not penetrate. I continued on my way in silence, only occasionally interrupted by gusts of warm wind and the rustling of lizards. Suddenly there was a bright light ahead: the walls slid open, and I found myself in a candlelit square. In the center stood a man in a long white robe. He raised his hands, and the sounds of a flute filled the space, flowing between the stones, echoing off the yellow-red walls, and disappearing into the vast star-studded night sky. Arab was in front of the Pharaoh's Treasury, a grandiose structure that completely overshadowed the surrounding ensemble. It could have been mistaken for an ancient Greek temple if it had walls. But there were no walls. The facade, columns, porticoes, statues and steps leading to the dark interior were masterfully carved directly into the rock. The light of hundreds of candles created an atmosphere in which it seemed as if I had become a participant in an ancient pagan ritual.
