Guilin is one of China's most fascinating cities, known for its stunning natural attractions. It is located on the banks of the Lijiang River in the southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Guilin's beauty has inspired people to create poetic names for many local attractions, such as the Seven Star Park, Cane Flute Cave, Folded Brocade Hill and Green Lotus Peak. These are just some of the unique places to see in Guilin. With a history of over 2,000 years, Guilin is a city where natural monuments blend harmoniously with man-made structures. In the center of Guilin stands the 152-meter high Lone Beauty Peak (Dushu Feng), with 300 steps leading to the top. Nearby are the ruins of a royal complex dating back to the Ming Dynasty, and to the south is Elephant Trunk Hill, named for its resemblance to an elephant drinking water.
