Journey to the bears in the Kronotsky Reserve, Kamchatka VR 360
In September 2017, I had the opportunity to spend three weeks in Kamchatka capturing wildlife: brown bears, gorgeous fall landscapes, geysers and volcanoes. This experience was truly unforgettable for me! I came to Kamchatka as a volunteer, which allowed me to visit unique places inaccessible to ordinary tourists. Together with other volunteers, I lived in small staff houses: I spent two weeks in the Kronotsky Reserve and one week in the Volcanoes of Kamchatka Nature Park.Becoming a volunteer in the Kronotsky Reserve is quite easy. You just need to go to their website, study the offers, assess your strength and fill out an application. However, it is worth noting that volunteer work does not involve free accommodation. To get to their destination, volunteers will have to buy their own tickets, as well as stock up on food to stay at the reserve for at least three weeks. The tasks to be performed are varied: field data collection, repairs, construction, surveying and photography. I was interested in taking photos and making videos about this unique area, passing on the results of my work to the reserve administration. A pleasant addition to this was the fact that all volunteers were invited on a one-day excursion to the Geysernaya River Valley, to the cordon in the Valley of Geysers.
