Captain America is one of Marvel Comics' most iconic characters, first appearing in the pages of comic books in 1941. He was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Steve Rogers, an ordinary guy, becomes a super soldier after an experiment to fight the Nazis during World War II. He became a central figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, played by Chris Evans. His films explore themes of patriotism, friendship and moral choices, as well as confronting threats such as the Red Skull and Thanos.
