San Francisco, CA, USA VR 360
San Francisco is one of the most famous cities in the United States, and its history is inextricably linked to the history of the country. These lands were inhabited by Native Americans for thousands of years before the arrival of Europeans. Sir Francis Drake, the famous British navigator, was the first to discover the entrance to San Francisco Bay, but he did not explore the area further. In 1579, he declared the shore part of the English crown, calling it “New Albion,” and continued his expedition. The city was actually founded in 1769 when a Spanish exploring party led by Don Gaspar de Portol arrived here. After Mexican independence, San Francisco, like the entire state of California, became Mexican territory, and only returned to the United States after the Mexican-American War in 1846.
