Iron Man 3D tells the story of Tony Stark, a wealthy industrialist and genius inventor who is kidnapped by terrorists in Afghanistan. Forced to build a weapon of mass destruction, Stark instead creates a powered exoskeleton suit equipped with advanced technology that allows him to escape captivity.

Back home, Stark refines his suit and decides to use his technology for good. He becomes the armored superhero known as Iron Man, dedicated to fighting crime and maintaining world peace. With the help of his loyal assistant Pepper Potts and his friend Rhodey, Stark confronts his own past as he battles against powerful enemies, including his former business partner Obadiah Stane.

Any superhero is Cinderella in some way: there comes a moment when he, with or without the help of a fairy godmother, puts on a beautiful dress (red, black, green cloak) and goes to charm the prince (save the world). Millionaire inventor and arms dealer Tony Stark travels to Afghanistan one day to sell the Jericho superweapon to American troops, but there, in the mountains, he is kidnapped by members of the Ten Rings and demanded that he build his superweapon for them. He, moreover, was wounded, but a local craftsman implanted a magnet in his chest, preventing the fragments from reaching his heart. Stark, realizing that he will not be released, is building not Jericho, but an Iron Man suit, inserts a nuclear engine instead of a heart and escapes from captivity. After returning home, he makes a more advanced version of the costume and goes to deal with his idiotic life. Finding out that someone is selling his weapons to the Taliban, he goes - no, not to kill the Taliban, but to destroy the weapons and look for the one who sells death behind his back. As if Cinderella did not go to the ball, but to beat her stepmother in the face.
